Altenew Build-A-Flower Anemone Coronaria Blog Hop + Giveaway!!!

Woohoo!  It's time for a new Altenew Build-A-Flower release!  If you're hopping along with us, you might be visiting me from Lillith Eeckels's blog.  If you're jumping in here, you can start back at the Altenew Card Blog  for all the details.  I also have the entire blog hop list at the end of this post in case you've missed anyone!  😊

This month's Build-A-Flower release is one of my favorites.  Anemones, or poppies, are such gorgeous flowers, and the images in this stamp set are so versatile.  There are countless ways to color them that completely transform the images.  I am always looking to get the most mileage out of my stamp sets as possible, so I decided to try a "one stamp three ways" challenge to see how far I could stretch these beautiful stamps.

For my first card, I pulled out my Altenew watercolors and did some no-line watercoloring.  I'm sure you've already heard, but these watercolors are so fantastic.  This was my first time using them so I wasn't sure what to expect.  The colors are gorgeous and blended like a dream. I simply stamped the images with light ink and did simple watercoloring, adding some detail outlines in with more concentrated paint.  I love the bright vibrancy the Altenew watercolors gave to this card!

For my second card, I stamped the images using Altenew Jet Black, Coral Berry, and Volcano Lake Inks.  The images were super easy to line up.  I masked off the images using my coordinating dies to cut the masks, and splattered the background with black paint.  I decided to add some texture and interest to the card by stitching around the borders of the flowers.

I added in a stitched border and this card was finished.  I love the graphic look you can achieve with the stamps.

For my last card, I decided to do some no line painting with gouache on a dark navy background.  I simply stamped the images with Altenew Jet Black ink onto the cardstock and filled them in with paint.  Because I'm not an expert on shading or shadows, I used the stamped images from the set as a visual guide on where to concentrate the darker shades of paint.  I stamped the "Hello" sentiment from Altenew's Mini Hello stamp set and painted over that with coordinating paint.  I embossed the "grateful for you" sentiment (from the Anemone Coronaria set) in silver and added some silver gems to finish the card.

I hope you enjoyed these cards!  Isn't it amazing the different looks you can achieve using just one stamp set?  You can find the beautiful Anemone Coronaria Build-A-Flower set here and the Anemone Coronaria and Ink Set Bundle here.

PRIZES!!!

To celebrate this release, you have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate right here!  Just leave me a  comment below and I'll choose one lucky winner by September 5, 2018!  Good luck!!!
